This week at Daily Geekette, we have celebrated our most beloved aspects of William Shakespeare’s work. Whether you like Shakespeare or not, if you speak English, you owe Shakespeare your gratitude. We wouldn’t have so many words and phrases if Shakespeare hadn’t put them in his plays and sonnets. Or knock, knock jokes. Yeah. Shakespeare invented the knock, knock joke (See Macbeth).
Yesterday, this reporter had the most awe inspiring day. Why? I was in Stratford upon Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, for the community’s celebration of the Bard’s 450th birthday.
